FITNESS MYTH: SPOT REDUCTION

The Myth behind spot reduction is that you can do certain exercises to reduce fat from a particular body part.

Example: Crunches to burn fat in the abdominal area.

It's been proven by scientific research not to be true.

This myth doesn't go away mainly because of the money-hungry infomercials trying to push their absurd fat loss products on to you to make an easy buck.

e.g - Thigh master and the shake weight

The ONLY people who benefited from this junk are comedians and the owners.

But the real truth is, everyone has areas on their body where fat may be distributed unevenly. For women, it's usually in the hips, thighs, and arms. For men, it's typically seen in the stomach or lower back.

The only way to reduce the fat in ANY area on the body is by remaining in a calorie deficit while maintaining a consistent exercise regimen for a long period of time.

Sorry, but there is no spot reducing shortcuts. You need to put in the work at the gym and watch what you eat.
